Survey Research and Polling
The Center for the Study of Crime and Justice maintains a survey research call center (pictured above) that can be used to conduct surveys and public opinion polls, both large and small, on any criminology and criminal justice topic.
We have the capacity to conduct focus groups and all forms of survey research (mail, telephone and internet). The Center can assist with any and all phases of the survey process including: questionnaire development, selection of representative samples of target survey populations, survey administration as well as produce customized reports of survey results.
CSCJ has been conducting survey research for the academic, government, and private sectors since 2008. Recent clients include Milliken, Colorado; Fort Lupton, Colorado; the Colorado Bureau of Investigation; the Colorado State Patrol; and Purdue Pharma LP.
The Center has designed and completed evaluations of numerous criminal justice programs in law enforcement, courts, and corrections at the local, county and state levels.
Center personnel are experts in program evaluation, survey development and design, strategic planning, and focus groups. In addition, we have experience carrying out both qualitative and quantitative projects.
CSCJ personnel have strong quantitative skills that include all forms of regression analysis, hierarchical linear modeling, structural equation modeling, measurement, and scale construction and validation. We also provide more basic data analysis if that suits clients' needs.
Grant Writing and Consultation
The Center produces and submits research proposals to agencies and institutions in all areas of the criminal justice system from the smallest of municipalities up to and including the National Institute of Justice and the National Science Foundation. We also produce proposals for private sector entities and various non-governmental criminal justice service and treatment providers.
Technical Assistance and Training
CSCJ provides technical assistance and customized training to a wide variety of organizations. These include large and small groups. We have trained and assisted local police, court and juvenile justice officials, as well as state law enforcement and corrections personnel.
